Zagazig University is a public higher education institution in Egypt, founded in 1974. It is situated in Zagazig city, capital of Ash Sharqiyah governorate, Egypt. The university was started as a branch of the Ain Shams University in the academic year 1969-70. It was the seventh university established in Egypt. It has colleges of trade, agriculture, science, veterinary medicine, human medicine, and education. The university aims to become a reputed Public University in Egypt. Since its inception, along these 46 years, Zagazig University strived to be at the vanguard of research, teaching, and professional education. There are over 22 faculties and institutes in this university. The University also has plans to expand to a Centre for Graduate Studies and Research in Obour City.
The Zagazig University strives to become an approved university. It is acknowledged for its prominent level of education, scientific research, and sustainable community.
