Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed) is a private international branch campus of the Newcastle University UK in EduCity Iskandar Puteri (previously Nusajaya), Johor. It was established to provide opportunities to Malaysian students to study UK-based undergraduate degrees in Medicine (MBBS) and Biomedical Sciences (BSc). The Newcastle University’s Malaysian campus is located in Iskandar Puteri (previously Nusajaya), Johor. It is 1km east of the Gelang Patah Interchange. Iskandar Puteri is undoubtedly the largest urban integrated development in Southeast Asia. It begins to develop into a thriving hub, in the past few years. Presently, there are numerous shops, eateries, and entertainment spots close to the NUMed campus. The signature building, which has the student-centric atmosphere of NUMed lies at the heart of the campus. The campus comprises a social learning space, the library /information center, the student wellbeing center, a cafe, and a common room for students. The NUMed campus is ideally placed for its students and staff. The city of Johor Bahru lies in the neighborhood. Moreover, the campus is accessible easily. Two international airports lie nearby. Also, NUMed has its shuttle bus that transports you to the shopping center, AEON, in Bukit Indah. NUMed has its student accommodation facilities for international students. The accommodation is just a 5-minute drive from the campus, with free regular transport provided. Transportation is available not only between the accommodation and the campus, but also between the accommodation and the facilities nearby, such as restaurants, shopping complexes, entertainment centers, and other attractions.
At NUMed, the students will get fully-equipped apartments, arranged as several study-bedrooms. Each apartment accommodates from four to six students. A central kitchen, living room, and shower facilities are available on sharing basis. Every apartment is equipped with its fridge, cooker, and washing machine. The apartments are air-conditioned and also have full-time WiFi access. The students are responsible for taking care of their room. Besides, there is a gymnasium and a swimming pool on-site, and all the students housed in the apartments have free access to them. There is a 24-hour, non-invasive security service. The accommodation team is dedicated to providing you with all the facilities that improve your living. You can rest assured of support and attention at all times. The registered Student Association oversees a whole host of clubs and societies students can find one or more that suit their interests. Also, the Student Association is responsible for organizing several events for the students throughout the year, such as the NUMed Games, Winter Ball, etc., for recreation purposes.
