Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is one of the largest higher educational institutions in Chernivtsi. It is a Government-run multi-structural educational institution of the highest level of accreditation providing educational programs at different levels. The Bukovinian State Medical University is included in the general register of the WHO, Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, Italy), European University Association (EUA), and the Association of the Carpathian Region Universities. It is a leading medical University in Ukrain that renders top-class education. It is highly preferred by International students, including Indian students.

Spotlight at Bukovinian State Medical University

Over the years of its existence, i.e., since 1994 till today, the Bukovinian State Medical University has trained more than 30 000 specialists in these main specialties: General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Pediatrics, Medical Psychology, & Clinical Pharmacy. In 2019, the Center of Simulation Medicine and Innovation Technologies was founded at the University, which provides learning and mastering practical skills of students, interns, and medical practitioners.

The Bukovinian State Medical University provides continuity of higher medical education in the following format:

Junior Bachelor → Bachelor → Master → Post Graduate Education → Doctor (Ph.D.)

Innovation pedagogical technologies are successfully applied in the educational process. The University teaching staff is unique, as real professionals work and are proficient in pedagogical skills. Physicians and pharmacists are trained at advanced courses at BSMU on 30 specialties. The Bukovinian University organizes online lectures by leading scientists both from Ukraine and abroad. There are 17 computer classes for self-education and testing students’ knowledge. Notably, BSMU has the largest alumni of more than 800 Indian Doctors working in Government and private hospitals in India. The graduates of this college have shown a high FMCG passing rate.

Teaching is provided in Ukrainian and English languages. However, the teaching language is purely English for foreigners.

University & Accommodation of Bukovinian State Medical University

Bukovinian State Medical University includes six faculties (including the medical, stomatological, & pharmacological), an educational-scientific institute of post-graduate education, 49 departments, a center of simulation medicine and innovation technologies, an educational-producing chemist, and a college. The material-technical base of the Bukovinian State Medical University is located in 15 buildings, and 33 municipal and regional medical establishments are used for Clinical Departments. Notably, the University Library funds number about a million volumes of educational, scientific, medical literature, and fiction. Besides, for student housing, the University owns eight hostels where all the amenities for living and learning of the students are well-appointed. There are two cafes and six snack bars. Delicious Indian food is provided to the students.

Student Life at Bukovinian State Medical University

The Students’ Self-Government in the Bukovinian State Medical University is of great significance for accomplishments of the rights, duties, and initiatives by the student community. Notably, the campus consists of eight comfortable hostels for students, that are connected to the Internet with considerable facilities for living, with reading rooms, sports gymnasium, everything necessary for living & studying. For the development of students' personalities and creative capabilities and recreation, the Palace Academichny is functioning actively. On its basis, various clubs and studios are organized, such as an art studio, decorative and applied arts and photo studios, the amateur ensemble of folk dance and song Trembita, drama and choreographic studios, and much more. Moreover, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, table tennis, chess, athletics, mini-football are available for the students at the sports club. Also, the students get sheer pleasure at the University summer sports and the Health fitness camp located on the bank of the Dniester River.
