About Ain Shams University

The Ain Shams University is a higher education public institution established in 1950. It is situated in Cairo city in Egypt. The university offers undergraduate and post-graduate level educative courses for students. When established, the Ain Shams University comprehended different faculties and institutes, which all were afterward developed into university. In Egypt, this University has played a significant role in enhancing human knowledge and promoting cultural and scientific life. Today, Ain Shams University covers fifteen faculties and two higher-education institutes, whereas, in 1950, there were only eight faculties. The foremost faculties were-  Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Agriculture, and Women's college.

Spotlight at Ain Shams University

Ain Shams University ranked second in the Egyptian universities in the Leiden ranking of the universities based on the impact of international research. The famous database Web of Science 2019, which witnessed the presence of five Egyptian universities within 963 international universities included in this classification about 30 thousand universities around the world.

The President of the University announced that the university has succeeded in maintaining its position among the best 1000 universities in the world and second place in the level of Egyptian universities, according to the report of the academic classification of the universities of the world known as the 2019 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World University, which is considered the strongest and most famous ranking in the world ranking in universities.

Ain Shams University provides manifold campuses, serving as university cities to educate international students along the students living in remote provinces. However, the university places several conditions to be fulfilled by the student to join the university city. University Cities gives various services to students, including food, housing, psychological care, & recreational services, maintaining a suitable study environment.

Student life at Ain Shams university

Every year this university works to keep up the university campuses. ASU is constantly engaged in enhancing the level of services provided as per the needs and wants of the students. The students comfortably reside in the University campus building for boys and girls separately, both embracing luxury equipment. They receive well-prepared meals distributed at the restaurant. Students participate in sports & cultural activities via the Youth Welfare Department at the University Campus. The foreign students enrolled in the university shall pay 25% of the cost per month, while non-grant foreign students pay the actual cost, the same as Egyptian students.
